The Kiss

The Kiss

Tejka was inspired by Gustav Klimt's iconic masterpiece, The Kiss (1907–1908). Klimt’s original work is one of the most famous pieces of the Vienna Secession movement, known for its rich use of gold leaf, intricate patterns, and symbolic exploration of love and intimacy.

In this modern interpretation, Tejka beautifully preserves Klimt’s signature golden hues and swirling patterns, while adding a unique touch with the detailed floral meadow at the bottom. The embrace between the figures reflects deep affection and vulnerability, their golden robes merging into one harmonious form, symbolizing the merging of two souls. The intricate patterns and mosaic-like elements echo the influences of Byzantine art, while the shimmering gold background creates a feeling of warmth and transcendence.

This piece captures the timeless essence of Klimt’s vision — love as both sensual and spiritual — while adding a fresh, modern flair with vibrant colors and enhanced textures.
